Terms of Service

Effective date October 2, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Signlore ("Signlore", "we", "us", "our"). They apply when you use signlore.com (the "Website") or the Signlore app for iPhone, including its share extension (the "App"). Together we call them the "Services". By using the Services, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. It is part of these Terms.

1. What Signlore is

Signlore helps people spot scam messages and know what to do if they have been targeted. In the App, you submit the text of a message or a screenshot, and Signlore returns a risk assessment, the warning signs it found and suggested next steps. On the Website, you can learn about Signlore, follow a step-by-step plan after a scam and join the waitlist.

2. Results are estimates, not advice

Signlore uses automated checks and artificial intelligence. Its results are estimates of how likely a message is to be a scam, based only on the text you provide.

  • A result showing no warning signs does not mean a message is safe. A result showing a high risk does not prove that a message is a scam.

  • Results can be incomplete or wrong, especially for new types of scams.

  • Results are general information. They are not legal, financial, security or law-enforcement advice.

You remain responsible for your own decisions, including whether to reply, click a link, share information or send money. If you think you have lost money or shared sensitive details, contact your bank and the relevant authorities straight away.

3. Who can use the Services

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority in your country of residence, you may use the Services only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Services. To buy a subscription, you must be an adult in your country of residence or have permission from a parent or guardian.

The Services are for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell them or use them to provide a scam-checking service to others.

4. Your licence to use Signlore

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Services in line with these Terms. In the App, this licence covers Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's usage rules. We keep all rights not expressly given to you.

5. What is free

The step-by-step help for people who have already been targeted by a scam is always free, on the Website and wherever the App links to it.

6. Free check and subscriptions

Free check. Each device can run one free message check. The limit applies to the device, so reinstalling the App does not reset it. A check that fails because of an error on our side does not use up your free check.

Subscriptions. After the free check, further checks require a paid subscription bought in the App through Apple's App Store. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen before you buy.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.

  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends.

  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.

  • If we change the price, Apple will tell you in advance, and where required you will need to agree before the new price applies.

Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests must be made to Apple through its support pages. We cannot issue refunds directly. If Apple refunds a purchase, access to the paid features ends.

7. Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on the Website, we will email you about the Signlore launch and the plan you chose. Joining the waitlist does not create a purchase or a commitment on your side or ours. Prices shown on the Website before launch are indicative and may change. You can leave the waitlist at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

8. Acceptable use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

  • break any law or use the Services to commit, plan or improve a scam or any other fraud;

  • test scam messages against Signlore in order to make them harder to detect;

  • submit content you have no right to share, or content that is illegal, such as material that exploits children;

  • copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or try to extract the source code, models or data behind the Services, except where the law allows it;

  • bypass the free check limit, subscription checks or any other technical limits;

  • send automated or bulk requests, or interfere with the security or operation of the Services;

  • use the Services to build a competing product.

9. Content you submit

You keep any rights you have in the text and screenshots you submit. You confirm that you are allowed to share them with us.

You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process your content only as needed to analyse it and return your result. If you allow it in the App, this licence also covers using the text of your checks to improve our scam detection, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can withdraw that permission at any time.

Messages may contain personal data about other people. Please share only what you need for the check.

10. Our intellectual property

The Services, including the Signlore name and logo, design, text, software and the results we generate, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may keep and share the results of your own checks for personal use, for example to warn family or report a scam to the authorities.

11. Third-party services

The Services rely on third-party providers, such as hosting, AI model, analytics and payment providers, listed by category in our Privacy Policy. The App may also link to third-party websites, such as official scam reporting pages. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites or their content.

12. Availability and changes to the Services

We work to keep the Services available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may pause the Services for maintenance, fix problems or change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will tell you in advance in the App.

13. Additional terms for the App Store

If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, the following also applies:

  • These Terms are between you and Signlore only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

  • If the App fails to meet any warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.

  • Apple is not responsible for handling any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.

  • If a third party claims that the App infringes their intellectual property rights, Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending or settling that claim.

  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

  • You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the App, such as your mobile carrier's terms.

  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the Services will be accurate, complete, error-free or suitable for your purposes, or that they will detect every scam. This section does not limit any rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • losses caused by scams, fraud or third parties, including money you send or information you share;

  • decisions you make based on a result;

  • indirect or consequential losses, or loss of data, profits or opportunities;

  • failures or delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as network outages, natural disasters or changes in law.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

16. Disputes and governing law

If you have a problem with the Services, please contact us first at support@signlore.com, and we will try to resolve it informally. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts where those laws allow.

17. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Services at any time. To delete your App data, use "Delete my data" in the App settings. Deleting the App or your data does not cancel your subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Services. If we stop offering the Services, we will give reasonable notice where possible. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as sections 2, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16, continue to apply after your access ends.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Signlore develops. We will change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect. If you continue to use the Services after the changes take effect, the updated Terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and cancel your subscription.

19. Contact us
